Philip Achille

Philip started playing the Chromatic Harmonica at age 9 years. He has since taken part in more than 20 harmonica festivals/concerts in six different countries (UK, USA, Holland, France, Germany, and Estonia) In November 2005 He became World Youth Solo Chromatic Harmonica Champion and winner of the open harmonica category at the World Harmonica Festival in Germany which is held every 4 years. His Harmonica tutor is James Hughes, who plays the harmonica in one of the longest running British comedy series, Last of the Summer Wine. In addition to the chromatic harmonica, Philip also play the saxophone, piano and double bass. (he also studied the violin to grade 6) He was the lead alto in the second band of the Midland Youth Jazz orchestra, and provides bass for his band "The Jazz-Hall Hedonists" - a five piece jazz/blues band. Can also be heard playing chromatic harmonica on the soundtrack to the latest Mr Bean feature film. BBC Proms Debut Royal Albert Hall 14th July 2007 Harmonica - he played a Little Suite of Music from the film Genevieve with the BBC Concert Orchestra.
